Yeah we have been looking at that, my son isn't at college yet, but my niece is, hoping we might be able to get a discount though her,

As I thought about this this afternoon, I think Keith's right. Wait for the new ones.
I'd forgotten about things like the availability of the Fusion Drive and such. For things like photos and video editing, I think it's going to be brilliant.
Tom (:macwave:... what can I say. I was tired.)
Yes I think I will wait.
Will it still be worth spending that little extra for the 27", or would the 21" be just as good?

Go see em and ponder  because its not something anyone else can decide for you.
I LOVE the 27. First time I set eyes on it I knew I wanted it and the 21 looked tiny next to it. Other people have said to me that they wouldnt want to work in front of a slab of screen that large.
If I was getting any desktop again, it'd be that new 27". The "old" one that I've had has been nothing short of brilliant and I'm really really hard to please
Another reason for the new one is the way they've been able to do the screen all in one rather than an lcd with glass over it. I heard them say that it's as if the print/graphics are on the surface of the monitor rather than "in it".
Now, I know this is only me and that I'm weird  but for years I've looked at LCDs and tried to explain to people that my eyes keep focusing on the front of the glass rather than the letters which are "under" the glass.
I'm really hoping that this new process will eliminate that problem since it's removing that 2 or 3 mm gap.
Thanks guys, not sure when the apple store will get them in so I can go and have a look, but maybe looking at them side by side I can choose.😄
My dad have the current 27" iMac and its amazing so if the new one is anything like that I'll be more than happy.
Yes you read right, I happy woman😃.
It will also give me a bit if time to save the extra cash.
