Re: premium economy in newly refurbed 747 v airbus a330
Totally agree with you, but there must be people out there for whom seeing someone even using a cell phone up there is a problem. I don't understand it at all but there must be!
Then there's the whole thing of, why is someone talking on a phone any worse than someone talking to their friends/kids across seats, turning behind, talking across the rows, laughing etc.?
It seems to me like there's something special about cell phones which annoys people

I can think of nothing worse than people having conversations and shouting because they can't be heard properly, or phones ringing because a call is coming in :nono: I would be absolutely fuming if I was sat beside someone who was doing this.
I can see nothing wrong with texting, if the phone is in silent mode or using Facebook, Whatsapp etc or even using the internet if thats what people want to do, but I think the phones should be silent, which includes keypad tones
If Virgin are going to allow this then I hope they have guidelines that the cabin crew follow correctly.
As for a quiet areas on a plane, yep I could go for that

 I see what you mean, but for some reason people on phones seem to talk louder or maybe it's just Chris
Maybe I just need to win the lottery and buy myself a private jet
You know me, if it's not too expensive, I'll be using my phone

There is a site you can use for private jets... apparently you can hire a whole jet for about £1,000! They only go one way though to Europe... they travel empty to their destinations and this way they make some money. You get the champagne too apparently! So it's not an impossible dream.... just you can't get back on it lol.

I quite like PE on 747, felt really spacious and was impressed enough to consider them again. Perhaps if would look to upgrade on the way home if we could only afford one journey as opposed to two.
PE on the Airbus doesn't seem to be attract any raving review so far :shrug1:

yeah indeed :/ even economy on the 747 refurb was pretty good. PE A330 on the way back didnt seem any better than economy 747 on the way out

I also preferred the UC on the "old" 747`s much more than that on the Airbus.
It will be interesting to see what the cabin is like on our next trip on a 747 if it has been refurbished. :fingers:
