orlando sanford airport threatened to arrest xl passengers!

has anyone seen this on the news? returning passengers said that sanford airport staff were very nasty and threatened to arrest them if they didnt leave the airport. how terrible is that! :(

No, I'd not seen that one. :sigh;

I did see an interview with a very irate British woman. She was trying to get home after her first visit to the US. She said she was never coming here again. :( I felt really bad for some silly reason.

I saw this yesterday! There were loads of people who arrived there not knowing anything about the problems. Apparently sanfords view was "nothing to do with us you dont have any flights so you need to leave"

American tv was doing an interview with a woman from sanford airport and she was smiling saying we're doing everything we can etc. and a load of uk tourists stepped in front of the camera saying she's not ! shes only being nice now because the cameras are here.

Turns out that because they wouldnt leave until someone gave them more information, they were threatened with being arrested

Ugh. That isn't well handled. Good for those tourists to set the record straight!

Sanford is a small airport as you know, and probably wasn't equipped to handle such an emergency (PR wise, I mean). No excuse, just thinking aloud.

maybe they were acting quite badly and staff wanted to keep order!!

The British Consulate and some staff were there last night.

Any idea how people are doing over there? they were saying 90,000 people across the world stranded which is a heck of a lot of plane space but I guess not all on the same day

There is little if not just passing comment on local news about it only verbal no actual pictures.

I've seen some interviews with British tourists. Most were outdoors.
