Eggnog recipe?

Does anyone have a tried & tested recipe for eggnog? Preferably a cooked one.

I can't find mine... :(

I have absolutely no idea what egnog is so I await the replies with interest

Step 2. Purchase carton of eggnog

They left out the bit about adding rum or brandy. :D

this one has bourbon - i may try it this year. would it be a bit like runny alcoholic custard?

For those here in the states just replace M&S with the words "local grocery store" and then follow the rest of Dawn's directions :D

I don't think I have ever actually tasted eggnog. The name turns me off.
