And so begins life without Springwatch. :(
Still Autumnwatch is on in September. :D
Been competing with my mum about the birds on our feeder.
Mum: I see your Goldfinch and raise you a Chaffinch
Me: I see your Chaffinch and raise you a Greenfinch
Mum: I see your Greenfinch and yesterday we had a pair of Great Tits feeding their chicks with food from our table.
Me: :unimpressed: you win.
Didn't you tell her about the puffin and pteradactyl?
Saving that for a special ocassion.

Apart from getting our hols booked and being excited about that, it's been a fraught and tiring week with puppy Basil. Just got back from the vet at the Dogs Trust, where I rehomed him from, and she seemed a lot more understanding than my regular vet, and they'll be treating him now as the Trust will be footing the bill. She understood why my vet had been so pessimistic about Basil's prognosis, but that she wouldn't have put it that way, and there's a lot can be tried before it would come to the worst case scenario. He may have arthritis, but if they can control the pain that's not too bad. I feel a little better because I'm a bit more informed. Met one of Basil's siblings (we had to decide between him and Basil when we chose) on the way out though and he's way bigger than Basil! Healthy and even pretty well trained! Oh well  Starting him on a different food today and hope it will help with the tummy troubles.
Waiting for Mr Deb to come home early this afternoon, and if the weather stays nice we'll be cooking and eating outside. Lamb kebabs are marinating and I'm about to make some humous and salads. Yum!
