No, it's not different standards. We do share the same standard of language, it's simply the meaning of given words in the respective countries.

It's a bit like slang where the meanings differ depending upon where you are in the country; same idea only extend it to the world.

One of the reasons Disney does a full hand or a two fingered point. Pointing with just the index finger is quite insulting in some cultures...

It is quite a challenge, and whilst I fully agree that a lot of the words are commonplace the whole tenet of this site is a friendly family based board for people to share their excitement pre or post Disney trips and very often far far beyone, we are very mindful that there are often little people sat nearby the screens very often due to the very nature of the site and we would hate for anyone to ever be put off because they were upset by a word when to be honest using *******!!!! suffices to get the point you were annoyed accross very nicely ( yes I used asterixes on purpose )

I parked in one of the theme parks lots once and the attendant was from Newcastle. As there were no cars following us I was chatting to him while Adrian unloaded the car and he kindly demonstrated the difference between the Disney two fingered point and the Geordie two fingered point.

I think our Helly would be great at WDW! She could pass out crayons to all the little sweeties when they are seated at dinner... she could help them color too.
