Its not different standards as such its just 'different' there is a word we use over her that we consider very ' soft' but the US consider it very offensive - its just a cultural thing - don't go thinking we are all stuck up prudes in bowler hats sipping tea whilst trying not to drop our monacles

Heh...I still find it funny that the word my grandma used when I was a tyke, to signify one's posterior/hindquarters/backside is considered quite a different word in the UK.

At any rate, that's what it's all about. Differences between cultures. Makes no one culture have higher standards, just differing points of reference.
