I'm going to make this mainly photo's as I know those are the most interesting bits, and considering there are 12 UK young people, 20 HK young people, and 4 youth leaders, it could get a bit confusing for you all

As part of the exchange we had to wear a uniform to the airport, and then change into regular comfortable clothes for the flight from Amsterdam to Hong Kong (as we had a connecting flight from Schipol.)

The minibus left for the airport at 11:15 sharp so that we arrived nice and early for check-in, and then for a bit of duty free and a veggie burger
We kept getting funny looks because of our 'uniforms' (complete with horrible compulsory tie.)
After a pretty un-eventful flight (which seemed shorter than a flight to florida... even though it was about 12hrs in all!), we met some of the HK delegates at the airport, it was SO great to see them again , and then checked into our hotel which was brilliant;

Right outside our hotel window was quite an open space before some buildings:

We then had a shower and got changed ready for our dinner. The Chinese style of dining is brilliant, instead of ordering separate meals, a number of dishes are ordered and then put onto a lazy Susan for you to pick and choose from.

There was only 1 vegetarian dish at this particular meal which was Tofu with vegetables in sauce (or soup as they call it);

We started to get more and more used to chopsticks, but I couldn't quite manage to eat a spring roll with one at this point, and found it easier to 'stab' the springroll with the chopstick

After dinner was some free time around HK, I found an apple store within 20 minutes of leaving the hotel.. I think I have some sort of homing chip

We also visited 'ladies street market', aswell as 'Langham Place' which was a newly built shopping centre with an arcade on the top floor and a photosticker shop;

After a rather busy day/night we settled back into the hotel about 10 o'clock for a well-earned rest
