what time is the earliest you can check in both at WDW and Universal Resorts?

From my understanding you can check in whenever, but they may not have your room ready.

yep 3pm normally but if your room isn't ready you can arrange to be sent a text to your cell phone when it is

DVC resorts are 4:00 pm (to have the room) but again, you can check in, and have them hold your baggage (even if it's in need of refrigeration, they'll do that for you) at any time.

sorry, didn't explain myself very well, you can check in in the morning for both so you can get tickets /front of line passes etc - is there a certain time or would it be ok to rock up at 8am at universal?

likewise, zero experience with us/ioa I'm afraid
I know at the Grand Floridian, they gave me the room key and everything else I needed but just wouldn't tell me the room number until it was available

We always turn up at Universal at 8am and have always been lucky enough for our room to be ready.
WE just dump our bags and go to the parks!
