      What a good idea! The old stirrups were quite difficult, especially for wide feet (or croc-wearers). You had to jam your toes in as far as they would go to get on the horse.

      Just saw these for myself on Monday. Yes, they would be more convenient for those in need but, aesthetically, they do not "go" with the ride. (Not authentic-looking and overwhelm the look of the carousel horses). I guess in the "olden days" they weren't exactly concerned with accessibility issues. HA!
