Carry-on size (average)
I was wondering what the average size of a carry-on is? Specifically, what size will allow the most travel with several different airlines?
Also, are disposable razors allowed on carry-ons?

Re: Carry-on size (average)
I have a 22" and it's sometimes too big for the overhead. I'd go with a bit smaller one if at all possible. 20" or so. I've been looking at luggage recently again. I have a Tumi for the 22" and let me tell you, pricey yes, but worth every cent.
I bought an off brand last weekend. Used it Monday for the first time. US Air baggage handlers broke a wheel off at the first go.
They have the case now and are planning on repairing it, but I'll always be nervous about using it, if it's that easily broken.
So! I'm going to get another Tumi. Not sure if I'll go with a 26" or the rolling garmet bag, but either way, it's a Tumi for sure.
The off brand I bought was a 28" and it ended up being overweight when packed, so it's too large.
Tough stuff buying a decent bag that will suit your needs and fit on the airplanes.
I did find a beautiful leather bag today though. 25". It came with a protective plastic sheild for checking... it's not quite big enough though.
I need one around 26" I think. The 22" is great for nearly everything, but when I have to carry training materials, etc.
The leather bag was a Mandarina Duck (Italian Leather) and is still calling my name...
Not sure which one I'll go with, but I'm pretty sure it will be another Tumi (in the same color as the first) as that was my intention when I bought the 22 incher.
More than you needed to know eh?
I don't believe I've had problems with disposable razors, but I honestly don't know.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!

Re: Carry-on size (average)
I now want to check out the leather one and will also look into the Tumi brand.
So, 20" should be okay with most airlines for carry-on.

Re: Carry-on size (average)
Yes. I believe 20" would cover you for internation too (which has smaller allowances).
Just browsed the Mandarina Duck website. Take a look! They have some nice things.
Tumi has a new series, a hardside, four wheeled case. Looks pretty interesting. I may take a look at that myself. They also have a four wheeled extended stay case, not what you are looking for (but what I am!
) so I'll try to find one of those to actually touch... Nordstroms carries them here, and then there is the Tumi outlet.

I was thinking about a hard case. I've never had one of those.

Re: Carry-on size (average)
I like the Tumi four wheeler... hard side.

The only thing is, not much space for overstuffing then, eh?
Plus, if you don't get a "good one" you'll have problems with cracking, I've been told.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!

Re: Carry-on size (average)
Samsonite has a good reputation... haven't used one in years. American Tourister is another one with a good rep...
Double check the pricing though. Sometimes you can pay more for one of those than a Tumi (which gets the highest rating for quality from Consumer Reports).Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
