New Disney Hawaiian resort gets named
Disney has been hard at work on the construction of their new resort in Hawaii, set to open in 2011. Today, they announced the resort's name: Aulani. Aulani is a Hawaiian word that means "the place that speaks for the great ones." Built on the island of O'ahu, Aulani will have 360 hotel rooms and 481 two-bedroom villas. There will be an 18,000-square-foot spa, two restaurants, and a conference center. There will be several pools, and to make use of the beautiful surroundings, hot tubs will face the sunsets. Disney hopes that Aulani will reflect the Hawaiian culture and traditions.

Re: New Disney Hawaiian resort gets named
Sounds lovely.
Oahu is a beautiful island with so many options for entertainment and activities, or just peace and quiet. It's the island with the most options for accommodation too, so it was a good move on Disney's part.

Re: New Disney Hawaiian resort gets named
OOOOOOOH!!!!! GOOD Idea!!!!!
OHHHHHH HERSELLLLLF....

We'll be following right after you on that one Slowhand. Do we have any idea what the point costs are yet?
Shellyamc, there is no time like right now to look into buying DVC resale (not direct from Disney, rather a reputable time share resale agent). There are MANY DVC contracts up for sale because of the economic times.
It really is a buyer's market right now.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!

Nope, sorry.
I asked that question when I rang DVC to sort out a few nights stay at the GF for our next trip and was told that they hadn`t been released yet.
Fingers crossed that they will be comparable to VB as I suspect the long flight to get there might deter many DVC guests.
