this film started 20 minutes ago on BBC1....I'm shocked already. It's the story of 3 half-caste girls who were snatched from from their Aboriginal Mothers and placed in camps to be trained as domestic workers alongside many others.

In the United States. I was horrified to learn that something that horrible was happening at all, but that it was happening in a supposedly "enlightened" country.

With DH job Tink I've heard some dreadful things that happen even locally that I would have never known were going on.

This film, I'm sitting here watching the story of 3 very determined and very clever girls.....but it's a terrible feeling to know that this actually happened.

I'd recommend anybody who hasn't seen that to sit and watch it for an hour and a half to see what the H**L went on, right up until 1970 apparently.

The Canadian Aboriginal people will tell you a terrible, terrible tale of abuse done to every child (EVERY child) that was taken from the tribes and sent to "school."

The US has a long history of treating the Native Americans just as badly.
