Question re NY and $ travellers cheques.

Are $ TC's going to be as widely accepted in the shops, restaurants and attractions in NY as they are in Orlando? We only ever use TC's in Disney so we know exactly what we are spending with a CC as back up - I would lose track of my spending with just CC's!

I`ve never had a problem with US dollar T/C`s anywhere in the States.
You would only be likely to come across a problem if you had Sterling T/C`s and you would probably have to change these for cash at a bank as very few outlets would be happy with them.

Yeah I've used TCs in the depths of Mississippi and no one bats an eyelid at them.

Make sure you do have some cash on hand if you want to get food from the street vendors.

I would also recommend American Express TCs over any other.

Getting excited now and in major planning mode now I studied maps for the last few weeks and have a nice clear picture in my head of where everything is Now just have the problem of fitting everything into 8 1/2 days and how we are going to manage to eat at the 50 odd restaurants we fancy!
