hard drive or hard drive high defination ???
which would you go for and why ???
have a perfectly good jvc dv camcorder but fed up of carrying tapes etc plus my laptop doesnt have a firewire.
the new camcorder would really only be used for holidays etc

if you was upgrading anyway, id definately go for the hi def one. BUT!! do you have anything hi def to play it back on trace?
edit: your newish tv was hi def wasnt it, have you still got it?

yeh my tv is hi def
saying that the last trip i just used my waterproof sanyo and the footage was fab
so might even buy a sd camcorder decisions decisions

i thought it was, couldnt remember tho. tbh i cant fault my sony's playback it looks awesome, i just prefer tapes coz you can keep them as masters and make different videos of them how you like, much easier to edit in my experience, but saying that ive not played with other types only the dvd ones and dont like them...if you get a hdd hd one im not sure how easy they are to edit, only to burn as it was taken, also im guessing once its off the camcorder and onto 1 dvd and it fails and you have wiped the drive, as dvd's dont last forever and can fail at any time, you have lost that footage forever. just something to think about trace

to be honest nothing lasts forever
i was really pleased with the sanyo but think i might go for the jvc sd card one as it has a good zoom (plus its pink)
ive plenty of sd cards and will get a few 16 gb ones too
also getting them off card wont be a problem as i will take my netbook with me and take the video's and photo's off daily
