Nebula photo without telescope , rubbish but still
[cid:76A01BB5-65D3-402F-A274-2F0DB9C3E868]
Pretty awful but taken with the 100-400mm zoom on a tripod ISO H and a 2.5 second shot - will win no prizes but proof you can get a photo of a nebula without a telescope, and some structure and colour
Maybe worth a go if you have the kit

Re: Nebula photo without telescope , rubbish but still
Set the camera to manual mode then on a cannon keep rotating the little wheel near the trigger button to the left and it increases the length of the exposure - anything more thana second or so and you get star trailing as the earth spins
As I said - rubbish quality and only possible as this camera gives you ISO 12800!!!! but still colour and some structure in an object several thousand light years away without a telescope - usually need a tracking mount and exposures of several minutes not 2 seconds!

Re: Nebula photo without telescope , rubbish but still
it really wasn't supposed to be an 'amazing' pic
it was just supposed to show how easy it is - from walking outside to coming back in took about 3 minutes - it was supposed to show anyone can do it -
thanks though
