Re: Going to see Alice in 3D!
JABBERWOCKY
Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!

Re: Going to see Alice in 3D!
Well... my DW and I just got back from seeing this!
We both thought it was delightful!
Oddly enough, on our way to the theater today, I was commenting to her how I felt that much of the 3D today was being overdone. Much like they did in "A Christmas Carol". I felt that the effect needed to be more subdued to provide a truly memorable experience. I wanted to remember the movie. Not the 3D effects.
Well, to both my and my DW's way of thinking, they did this one superbly! Not overdone at all. I was left with the impression of the story, not the effects! From our perspective; two thumbs up!
I thought Mia Wasikowska was brilliant as Alice and Johnny Depp is, of course, Johnny Depp. Also thoroughly enjoyed the representation of the Cheshire Cat. One of my personal favorite characters!
All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon at the movies!

Re: Going to see Alice in 3D!
BTW - sneaky fellow that I am.
If any of you have been to the Disney site for Alice in Wonderland and found the music used there interesting and thought to yourself; "I'd like to have that for a ring tone on my phone". Well, here's the links to the mp3 files that they've used there. You'd probably need to reduce them in length, but that should be doable.
Enjoy!
