I gotta Mac! Now what do I do?
Ok, there's been a number of people on here who've decided to take the plunge and get themselves a Mac.
Congratulations!

Now, almost eveyone has then had questions like "How do I ..." or "Where is ...". (you fill in the blanks)
So, I thought I'd post up some links to some of the training material available on the Apple web site. Some of this is video based, and some of it is text based. Take your choice.
So, here we go:
- First up, is the "Find Out How" section of the Apple web site.
Note that this page has links to various things across the top. Things like "Mac Basics", "Photos", "Music", etc. Each of those sections take you to a page with information pertaining to that specific section. Video tutorials are at the right hand top. Additional videos are listed on the left hand side down the page. And text based instruction is listed on the lower right hand side of the page. Also, note that if there's a couple of different applications that might fit in this category, they're shown as tabs across the center of the page. For instance, the "Music" section has separate tabs for "Garage Band" and "iTunes".
- Next we come to the Mac 101 section.
These pages have links to text based pages that show you the specifics of how to work with your Mac. These are quite a bit more detailed than the videos listed in the previous section.
- Finally, we come to the "Switch 101" section of the website.
This is the place to be if you've switched from a Windows PC to a Mac.
It has links on it that show you such things as how to move your files from your old PC to your new, shiny Mac. In here is also where you'll find the "On Windows, I used too..." section. This is where you can go to find out how to do something on your Mac like you used to do it on Windows.
So... that's about it. However, if you've got other questions, or get stuck on anything here, just give a shout, either here or by PM. I'm sure one of our resident Mac gurus will be happy to help!
Hope this helps!
Edit... and Skywatcher has just reminded me of the most important rule:
1. Resist the urge to lick it!
Tom (
... you can have my Mac when you pry my cold, dead, fingers off the keyboard!)
