Ipad camera cable and USB

Hi,

I am wondering if the cable part of the camera can be disconnected from the USB socket so that you can connect other 'stuff' with usb such as keyboard etc or even download an apps which can accept keyboard etc.

Worth experiment me think

No experiment necessary. The answer on this one is a qualified "yes".

The iPad camera kit comes with two adapters. Both of which plug into the 30 pin connector on the bottom of the iPad. One adapter has an SD card socket and functions as a SD card reader. The other adapter has a USB socket on the bottom.

Now, this USB socket can be used for some things, but not for others. That's why I said qualified. You can plug in an external USB keyboard for example but not an external USB disk drive.

No doubt someone, sometime, will try to make it work with other things too.
