New waterslides open at Castaway Cay
Pelican Plunge, the new water slides at Castaway Cay, are now open for guests to enjoy. The slides were planned to be open this summer, but recent passengers on the Disney Cruise Line report that they have opened early. The attraction features a floating platform with 2 water slides - one is an enclosed corkscrew slide and the other is a 140-foot long open slide into the ocean. The platform also includes a giant bucket that dumps water on guests, as well as four water cannons to shoot targets placed in the water.
Another change coming to the island is a 2,400-square foot play area called Spring-a-Leak. This water playground will look like it was hit by a storm, with leaking pipes and broken plumbing. Water jets and a splash pad will be fun for guests of all ages.

Re: New waterslides open at Castaway Cay
Bambi,
Have a look through the Disney Cruise Line section of our Secrets site.
Plenty of photos, videos, and trip reports to get him excited.
For myself, I'd much rather do a 7 day cruise than a 4 day one. With a 4 day cruise, I'd feel like I'd just gotten on the ship when I had to get off. A 7 day cruise gives me enough time to actually enjoy the amenities on the ship.
The only exception to that would be like our currently scheduled 5 day cruise on the Disney Dream. We wanted to see what the Dream was going to be like and Disney's only doing 5 day cruises on it. So, we didn't have a choice!

I have no idea how I missed that whole section “DOH”
lol!!! I was searching on here the other night for info about Disney cruising. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. It will be our first ever cruise so we are all a bit nervous. I might be asking you some questions Mr Assistant cruise director. Heehee
