Ipad pages

Is it true that you cannot do word count on ipad pages?

Seems to be so. At least on this version. Perhaps they'll add it in later.

I found this....

'However the truth is that Pages *does* have a word-count function. Bring up the Inspector in Pages, and select the first item in the array of icons across the top. This displays the Document pane, which has 3 options: Document, TOC (Table of contents) and Info. Select "Info" and this displays a variety of items of information about the document, including a word count. It is a dynamic display, so if you select any amount of the document with the cursor, the "Info" display shows the data relating to that selection - again, including a word count.'

That's true.

But only for the full Mac version. The iPad version sadly doesn't seem to have the Inspector.

I have a terrible secret, I hate the multiple window approach on macosx. The inspectors and other things that litter the desktop when an app is in focus. I really would prefer an app to be selfcontained in a window

now. I've noticed that on the ipad, apps that have one window on macosx are fine. Apps that use inspectors and other windows arent and I'm sure its because the developers are thinking ok erm so where do these options go then on this fullscreenapp ipad.

My thinking/hope is that this will make them ponder new ways of displaying important info constantly without an inspector.

Anyway that aside theyre all version 1 apps, they'll all improve quickly

agreed :/ no idea what they were thinking on that one!

Loving the ipad though really am it'll work out!
