Virgin change some planes on orlando routes from 747 to airbus a333
website vflyer is reporting that an airbus a333 will be operating the lgw/man/gla/mco route on certain days of the week from april 2011.
First flight will be MAN-MCO on Saturday 2nd April (VS075)
There's some debate as to whether there'll be an upper class at all on these flights but the theory is that there'll be less UC/PE and more economy in % terms.
The airbusses are smaller than the 747 so may be more rightsized for the projected requirements during that period.
They're also supposed to have in flight wifi internet access and a significantly uprated entertainment system

when the A330 starts the VS075 time will change to a later 11.00 departure arriving into MCO at 15.10, and the VS076 will depart at 19.00 and arrive at 08.10 next day.

Sorry guys fixed now

The big thing is the seeming lack of upper class which has people up in arms. There's talk about this being a temporary seat arrangement though

Well I imagine it will all be about maximising profit per square inch of floorspace
odd that they have gone for smaller craft though - washoping we'd see some of those huuuge new planes on the route

If they do omit UC I guess I`ll be switching my allegiance to another carrier and using their reward programme for the upgrades.
The problem is that if you`ve flown UC [especially on the return leg], it doesn`t half spoil you from returning by any other means.
The outward bound flight being less of a problem IMHO.

I just don't see how they CAN omit UC. The way I understand the economics of it all, they don't start really making much money until PE/UC kicks in.
I must admit, I was able to sleep a little on the way to Orlando this time because of Upper Class. I can imagine how great it would be on the return leg
