Buying clothes whilst on holiday

DH suggested that instead of packing enough clothes for the whole 8 days just take a couple of days worth and take advantage to the bargain buys and extra choice in Orlando. Anyone ever done this? I'm assuming because Florida is relatively warm all year round, summer wear is available at all times?

DH did it one year, but the disadvantage was that we had to go shopping too soon into the holiday. He did get some good bargains though.

You'll have to go shopping - sounds obvious but you may lose a park day. If I was only going for a week I'd just pack for a week and be done with it.

I'm hopeless at packing and have been known to go on business trips decided that day, straight from the office with just me and a briefcase. So I got used to buying stuff.

We always go to the florida mall on the second day anyway, so it's no hassle

Ah see! That was DH's reasoning Keith. We have pencilled in a mall mid way through on our rest day so aren't losing a park day I guess.

We do shopping too, and always seem to need another case!

Why don't you take enough clothes to make it to your rest day? You could do laundry once in the interim--or take some clothing you wouldn't mind discarding if you find some new things.

You'll find a fair amount of fall and winter clothing when you visit Orland. Still don't understand why stores insist on cold weather clothing in July, August or early September in warm climates. We never need the stuff before December!

We went for Thanksgiving last year (late Nov) and I packed mostly jeans since it is usually cool enough for those at that time of year. WRONG! It was a heat wave and I had a time trying to find shorts. I DID find some at Wal-Mart on 192 but most of the places had fleece and winter stuff.

They'll probably have some, but not a great selection. They've already begun summer clearance sales, but they're usually a bit less agressive in places like Orlando and Phoenix until August. They have massive sales most other places, though.
