Children who are scared of the characters

Do they grow out of it or not really?

Last time dd1 was looking forward to meeting the characters so much but then at crystal palace it was just too much and she screamed and screamed. She never really enjoyed the characters for the whole holiday.

Do you try to show them lots of videos before you go or what

Our Seth is now 6. Early on he was ok with Mickey, but wasn't thrilled with the others. We'd let him control the vantage point and closeness. Often, he'd simply stand and observe.

Then he decided he liked all the women face characters. Seriously!

He loves Mary Poppins in particular and will hug her for as long as she'll let him.

Then Tink kissed him.

He declared he'd never wash that cheek... (some days I thing that's true)!

Still not going near the Beast or Jafar, but he's ok with a bunch of the others (Pooh, Tigger, Pluto, Donald, ect...) now.

I never did!

When we went in 2008 dd was only 2, if she couldve climbed on my head out the way of them she would have, but they were so good - as soon as she got upset they backed right off. She was fine aslong as they didnt overstep her mark! Im interested to see what she will be like this time, we went to Haven on holiday and she had her photos taken with a few of the characters there, although daddy got dragged into them too!
