Wheelchair questions - we have a problem
Adrian's sister has hurt her back badly. Apparently her pelvis has shifted forward.

Anyway she has many drugs and is currently awaiting an MRI.
We go in 11 weeks. If she is capable of doing the flight the chances are we made need a wheelchair for some of our trip. What's the best way to do this bearing in mind we're off site in a villa?

Re: Wheelchair questions - we have a problem
We rented an ECV from Apple Scooter in Orlando this past April for my brother. The prices are quite a bit better than Walker and they deliver and pick up as well. I was very pleased with their service.

I think in Disney itself you should be fine, seem to remember the wheelchair hire was next to the stroller hire, if memory serves. The link Mick has put up looks good

Re: Wheelchair questions - we have a problem
Renting from Disney will be much more expensive then getting one from a DME. Also, the ones at Disney are transport chairs only, and they are not always in the best condition. They sometimes run out too.
Same for the ECVs. They are pricey and they run out.
If you think you'll need it for nearly every day, then rent one from a local company and have it delivered to where you are staying.
Just be certain of course that whatever you get you can transport.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
If you haven't joined yet, do register. It's a great place to make friends and share all those Disney secrets!!

Re: Wheelchair questions - we have a problem
Can I just stay make sure her travel insurance will cover this injury if she still plans on going, you never know when these injurys will play up even if your feeling better. I would hire from a company as it will be cheaper than hiring in the parks. A tip tie a ribbon on it so you can tell which one is yours. I would contact the airline for help on and off the flight. She may find sitting for that long uncomfortable and I would suggest taking couple of pillows, one for her back and one to sit on. You can get a pillow that has back and sides to it. I have one for Beth and will try to post link for you.

Special Needs Support Cushion - ROMPA® - Home of SNOEZELEN®
You can squeeze it into the chair well. Check eBay as you may find it cheaper on there.
