Re: england
tell me who has played well so far
germany were crud today. the aussies were so poor last game that made them look good
brazil, nowhere near as good as they were, didnt play well either
italy rubbish
spain, they were the pre tournament faves, nope not good enough
only team that have played wellish so far is argentina
if we can hit the form we played in the qualys we can still win it but i very much doubt it, unless he plays a different formation and a few different players
and history says 100% england havent won anything without west ham players in the team
look it up its true

Re: england
I think we were lucky that our apponents played equally as poor and the goalie was the only player that did any real work. As long as they don't start talking about sacking the manager for staff incompitance

Re: england
why did capello insist on playing gerrard on the left just to accommodate Barry
?? total madness if you ask me. surely you play your best player in his best position !!!

Re: england
Totally agree. Gerrard in the centre. Rooney on the bench. Crouch starting up front as he is far more talented than husky and can actually hold the ball up, as opposed to husky who struggles to hold even himself up against gravity.
I also thought James was a safe pair of hands yesterday and claimed a few good balls from corners etc and should start on Wednesday.
I don't buy the whole nerves argument. They just don't loo bothered as a team.
I honestly felt if you put a team together from the lower leagues you'd see more passion and determination.

Re: england
I agree either in centre or just behind rooney or whoever he decides to play up front... you could see on friday that gerrards natural instinct is to move inside and dictate the play, I don't understand capellos thinking on putting a right footed player on the left. I hope that he uses Joe Cole in some capacity on wednesday too !!

Re: england
my team would be
i would have taken scott parker no question to play where ive put carrick
green only instead of james as james flaps too much at corners, crosses etc
defo would have taken bentley when becks got injured. phillips and lennon cant cross a ball for toffee
Green
Johnson........Dawson........Terry..........A. Cole
Carrick
W.Phillips.......Gerrard.........J. Cole
