pre-trip report for August 27-September 5

You know what Johnie if I told my daughter we were going, she would drive me nuts between now and then. We have gone every summer since she was in my wife's belly and when I told her we werent going this year she said to me almost crying " Dad I have a reputation to uphold, all my friends know I go to Disney thats who I am".

Oh my goodness!! That sounds just like something my daughter would say!!! LOL! So glad you guys will be able to make the trip, Butterhead. I know times are tough and money is tight (we had the same dilemma regarding our upcoming trip) but I have every belief that you won't be sorry you went! Have a lovely time! Looks like our trip will be concluding just as yours is beginning, so I'll be sure and leave some pixie dust lying around for you and yours!!

Today I did the most disheartening thing that I have done in a while....... I cancelled my trip to WDW for August 27... My son is an incoming freshman at a private high school here in NY and Football tryouts start this weekend and if he makes the team he will have practice everyday from now until Labor day. I am getting a new boss at work next week and he may or may not approve my vacation time. So I made a grown up decision and cancelled.
I would have lost 100 dollars if I cancelled so what I did instead was change my trip from 8/27/2010 to 8/19/2011 and asked for all my money back except for 200 dollars. The worst part was being put on hold and listening to Disney Music knowing that I wasnt going this year. Oh Well.

Oh no, I am so sorry you had to cancel. It's rough being a grown up isn't it? There are all sorts of dates for free dining out throughout next year (I posted a thread) in case you wanted to go at a different time of the year.

Ah no. That is sad, but you've made the best decision for your family. Disney really isn't going anywhere so it will wait for you to visit next year!
