how does fastpass work?

So this fastpass thing

do all rides have it? I think I have to look around for the place they give them out then use my park ticket to get one but I cant get another one until when? until we've used the first one or some time ?

Is universal the same way?

Not all of the rides have the fastpass but the popular rides do. You use your admission ticket to retrieve a fastpass from the kiosk that is near the ride/attraction. You can get the next fastpass after you use the one you already have or after two hours, whichever is first. I cant answer for Universal because the 2 times that we have gone to Universal we stayed at one of their hotels which provides front of the line access by showing your room key.
