Captain EO is a "must see"

I hereby declare Captain EO at Epcot a "must see".

It is a "4-D" movie starring Michael Jackson as Captain EO who has to save the world from an evil force that has taken over the universe. Of course he does it with song, dance, and a ragtag posse of muppets.

The film is in 3-D (directed by George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola) but has some interactive effects similar to Mickey's Philharmagic and Stitch's ride at MK.

MJ's song and dance at the end is so fun and catchy you'll be dancing your way out of the theater inspired to make the world a better place!

      Scary spoilers:
Anjelica Houston stars as the queen who has been turned into some sort of cyborg spider creature. She and her minions could be scary to some little ones. Also, pick your feet up off the floor if you aren't too keen on things touching your legs...

SEE IT! SEE IT! SEE IT! Before they take it away again!

I've never seen this! A former co-worker of mine did, years ago now, and was NOT impressed. She thought it was far too dark and "violent" for children.

      Must go check it out!

Re: Captain EO is a "must see"

I loved Michael Jackson but found this to be very cringe worthy - probably becasue of how dated it was
I could feel DH's embarrassment at being at this attraction

It is Disney history but it is very dated. It’s very nostalgic for kids from the 80s like me.

My kids thought it was hilarious because it was so bad. They felt sorry for the evil robots getting changed into camp 80s Fame Dancers by Michael Jackson.

Re: Captain EO is a "must see"

I'm not gonna lie. It may be too scary for the very little ones. I'm not fond of things popping out at me so I took my 3-D glasses off whenever Anjelica was onscreen but by the end of the film, you realize it's harmless and join in the fun.

For any "Child of the 80's" this is great. I grew up admiring MJ and moonwalked my way in and out of the theater.

Get over it being "dated", get over the bad acting, get over the "rainbow stare" MJ does at the end. ENJOY it for what it is. It's very "Disney" and about bringing light and joy to the world and getting rid of meanness and evil. This is what Epcot is about. Bringing people together and enlightening them to other cultures and innovations. Peace, love and understanding, y'all!

Re: Captain EO is a "must see"

Not a fan. I would have rather had them bring back "Magic Journeys" which was the original 3D film that was presented here when EPCOT opened in 1982.

BTW, if anyone is a fan of Star Trek (Next Generation or Voyager) did these cyborg creatures look like The Borg or what????

Also I can`t get out of my head the things that he was accused of and wonder if having this attraction where kids are in abundance is a good decision.
      Just my opinion.
