The first Monorail track addition project since 1982 is about to commence in Walt Disney World.

While this won’t be the massive expansion everyone’s been hoping for, it may lay the foundation for a wider expansion in the future.

A new switch will be added near the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) which will accomodate a new spur line. With that side track, monorail operations will be able to keep a work tractor in a much more central location, ready for events on either the Bay Lake loops or the EPCOT loop.
