      It's getting closer....Epcot's Food & Wine Festival

      Does anyone know yet if they have a list of all the bands that will be playing and the countries that will be participating (other than the ones in World Showcase)?

      WDW = 39 visits since 1979
      DCL = 3 cruises since 2002

      Been there, done that, going back
      2012 = Marriott Lakeshore Reserve - Food & Wine Festival (Oct)

      WOOHOO!!! I'll be there for Night Ranger and 38 Special! It doesn't get much more 80's than that!!

      That food sounds wonderful as well. I cannot wait for my first Food & Wine Festival.

      Re: It's getting closer....Epcot's Food & Wine Festival

      The food and wine are at little kiosks around the WS. If paying OOP, you just purchase whatever you want. If you are on DDP, you can use snack credits towards food purchases.

      Last year, they implemented a little gift card you could buy and wear around your wrist to make purchasing easier. They plan to bring it back this year. It was really nice.

      Re: It's getting closer....Epcot's Food & Wine Festival

      You'll spend MUCH money, so be prepared for that. The servings are quite small, and no longer enough to share, unless you want to literally have one bite for yourself and one bite for one other person (we do that though, makes it easier to try more things).

      The wine and beer are in smaller amounts if you wish, and therefore a bit more cost effective than the larger more expensive sizes usually available at WDW.

      You'll do best to get one of the Food and Wine Festival brochures right off the bat and spend a little time looking through it. It will give you the schedule of the no cost events, and the extra ticketed events.

      We did one of them once, but didn't find it worth the extra money (Party for the Senses) so have never done one again. We often discuss doing one of the chef dinners, but haven't done that either.

      There will be cooking demonstrations, some where you can taste what is made, others where you cannot.

      There will be merchandise throughout the area, and a dedicated merchandise area (usually in the old Body Wars building up in Future World).

      All in all it's still a really fun time, although some of us old timers do miss the way it used to be.

      I'm glad you are finally getting a chance to attend! Come hungry and if at all possible try to go during the week as the weekends are totally jammed.
