Re: Fort lauderdale
Last time we flew into Miami and stated at Fort Lauderdale by the Sea. It is a beautifull resort by the beach.
We are returning this year and staying at the same place, Shore Haven Inn, for 4 nights then driving up to Orlando for Christmas & New Year.Doreen

Re: Fort lauderdale
The worst part about flying into Miami is the traffic in and around the city. Take a look at the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale airport to fly in to and see if that would work for you. Much easier traffic in and out.
When my dad lived in southern Florida and we came to visit we always stayed in Hollywood instead of Ft. Lauderdale as it was cheaper and they have some nice ocean front hotels too. Although, it has been about 7 years since I've been down that way.

Re: Fort lauderdale
Just try to avoid rush hour if you can and it will be fine, it'll just take a bit longer that's all.

Re: Fort lauderdale
I am a freak, granted... but I like Miami International!
Brit, if you want to drive just a bit, and be ready for a direct shot to Orlando, stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Madison Avenue in Tamarac, FL. It's not far (outskirts of Ft. Lauderdale) and is RIGHT off the Sawgrass that will take you directly to the Turnpike (which is FAR, FAR better than dealing with 95).
It's a newer Hampton, doesn't allow smoking and is quite decent. No true suites, but nice rooms with mini refrigerators and microwaves.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
If you haven't joined yet, do register. It's a great place to make friends and share all those Disney secrets!!
