medieval times, pirates, luau?

We are unsure which to do the Pirates dinner show or Medieval times or the luau at seaworld
We last did Medieval Times 5 years ago and it was fun but not wonderful
Perhaps we should just try pirates

We've done Medieval Times (YEARS ago, never returned, once was enough) and the Luau at Sea World. It was ok. Nothing to really complain about, and we did think it might be nice to go back during Christmas, but we have yet to do that. It's worth doing.

Never done pirates so can't help you there.

Medieval times OK and the best of the outside disney ones that we did, but only ok. Food absolutely nothing to write home about and show was ok.

seaworld luau again ok. Bit more authentic than the Disney one, food ok but sharing the table with lots of strangers wasn't our favourite experience.

I recall thinking the luau at Sea World was better than the horrible thing passed off for a luau that we went to in Hawaii!

We were on a table with loads of kids and some very chatty people. I say this in full recognition that I'm a grump and this is my own fault and no one elses but every time I tried to take a bite someone I didnt know was yelling some small talk question at me

Anyway, I thought the show was decent enough.

We've grown to like the Disney Luau too even though it's a real "ask for the wine to keep coming, turn brain off, relax, smile" experience

Done Pirates, Medieval Times and Arabian Nights - food not great in any of them.

Personally, I enjoyed Pirates most, there's some audience participation. My boys liked Medieval times.

OMG, you actually had a BAD luau in Hawaii? We've been several times and they were great.

Tink, you don't by any chance remember the company that you booked your luau with do you?

Jeremiah's? I'd have to dig out my travel diary to remember for certain, but it was one that came highly recommended (and has been featured on HGTV!). The food was horrid, the entertainment so incorrect (historically) as to be an insult and too much of the night was taken up by a guest who sobbed into the microphone about how they were celebrating his 16 year old daughter's pledge of virginity until marriage. I need to listen to THAT?

Needless to say, nothing about it was worth repeating and has put us off completely from anything like it again.
