Unfortunately I do not have one of those.
Guess when I replace I should look for a laptop that has them.

John,
Didn't see your question till this morning. Couple of if's associated with this:
- If your desktop has a SATA I/II or SSD drive in it (most do except for quite old ones).
- If your laptop has an eSata port on it (or you can add one. See below.).
Then yes, you could do what you mentioned. Jamie already provided the picture of the interface.
You can always get a Express34 or PCMCIA adapter to add one. Assuming your laptop has a card slot.
