Airport lounges worth the money?

Hi, there are a few possible airport lounges but all about £40 per person which seems like a lot. Do you get your moneys worth from them?

i was very tempted to do this but for the amount of time you spend in them i think that it would be a waste.

A few years ago we used the Virgin one at Gatwick, for free, as we were there for a couple of hours.
It was pleasant and quiet with free drinks, snacks, newspapers etc.
I don't think I would spend £40 on it though, unless I was at the airport for a long time.

I don't think I would spend that much money for a lounge. We have been in some courtesy of the airlines themselves and unless you have a REALLY long layover they are not IMHO worth it.

I agree with anony_mouse, £40 does seem a lot to pay unless you have a long stop over.
Fortunately my cc gives my DW and I free access to most lounges Worldwide so we use them every time we fly. However I doubt whether I would splash out that sort of money for a couple of hours or so of relaxation.

Gulp that seems expensive.

Been to a few lounges but have to stick to the family ones not bad value at around 50 pounds for a family of 4.

We are using Glasgow's lounge at a cost of £75 for the 5 of us.

Yeah £15 per head seems about right, but £40 WOW!
