Fear of Flying
My DW is trying hard to overcome her fear of flying. She's of the opinion that we're going to need to go to California to see her son sometime soon. So, she's been perusing self help books and videos. Some of them are online. Today, I was working on my computer when my email dinged announcing a new email...
It was from my DW...
It was quite simple...
It said:
This is what I learned today: Holding tightly to the armrests does nothing to stabilize the plane.
Sometimes, she cracks me up!
Tom (
... she's a master of understatement!)

Re: Fear of Flying
There are loads of other places for you to visit Tom if [and it`s a big "if"] your DW could pluck up the courage to get on a plane.

Maybe you should tell her that it`s irrational to have a fear of flying...crashing yes, but flying, no.
[On the other hand maybe it`s best that you don`t tell her that!]

Re: Fear of Flying
Fraid that wouldn't work for my DW Brit. But thanks for the suggestion!
Hmmm... that had never crossed my mind Terry! Nope, not at all.
Yeah. And I'm also not going to tell her the three most useless things to a pilot:
- Runway behind you.
- Altitude above you.
- And a tenth of a second ago.
Tom (
... I'm just glad she's finally trying!)
