whats a funnel cake?

We had ours at Blizzard Beach and they were hot and yummy. They taste like crispy doughnuts... if you like hot crispy yum yums you'll love these!

mmm yeah, we tried one with chocolate on if i remember correctly - we did share it between four of us, couldn't have managed (or wanted to manage) a whole one!

I think they are O.K.

Dad and Ray got one and I shared my dads... the coating was nice, ray got chocolate and it wasn't so nice.

I'm not a great cook but I don't think we do Shelly. Do you like funnel cakes then?

Not so much honestly. I do like fried bread dough like my Nana makes it, but funnel cakes are usually way too greasy for me. My tummy isn't into that so much

Icky things. They are a bit of a cross between a doughnut batter and a pancake batter as far as I am concerned. Not nice.

Fried bread dough, now that's another matter. Mama used to make the best! It's (her's anyway) was white bread dough (homemade) and she'd break off bits, flatten it between her palms and then slip it into wicked hot oil. When it cooks it puffs and gurns golden. The edges stay lighter. I liked them just as they were, but my siblings liked sugar and cinammon on them, or jam/preserves. Da liked butter on them. They were only good hot though. Nothing at all like funnel cakes.

I had to make Indian fry bread for a class years ago. My mom's best friend is from the Mattopani tribe and she gave me a recipe. Omg I had such a time with it. She then tells me it is just as easy to take biscuit dough and drop it in the hot oil for a bit that would have been a whole lot easier and less messy!

That's obviously an American thing cos never ever heard of or had fried bread dough.

The Chinese do it too. They call it chinese doughtnuts.

My Grandmother used to fry biscuits. Not too sure I liked them very well.

I think you might like it Helly. They are soft and light and warm. Nice! (I'm sorry you still hurt when you laugh. )
