best navigation system to use in orlando?

We're thinking of buying a navigation system over here in the UK so we can use it in both our cars but were thinking if we put the US maps on it then we could use it in orlando?

Would it be possible? has anyone done it?

Buy a system that US maps are available for like the TomTom - then whatever maps come on the device either add to them by downloading directly to the device (plugged into your computer) or a memory card that plugs into the device.
Out TomTom came with Europe - we went to the TomTom site and paid for the American maps and installed via the computer.
Couldn't be without them, especially with the road trips we do.
