Disney want Darren Aronofsky to direct Maleficent
Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky is reportedly being courted by Disney Pictures to take on Maleficent.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Tim Burton had stepped down from directing the live-action project, although no reason has yet been given for his departure.
According to Badass Digest, Disney is keen for Aronofsky to take over from Burton as director, but are also considering Harry Potter helmer David Yates.
Maleficent is a retelling of the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, but from the viewpoint of the evil witch.
