      grand marshall of the parade?

      Hi Ive heard people say their family was chosen to be grand marshall at the parade, what does it mean please?

      I guess its something chosen not volunteered for?

      Yes, it is a chosen thing, not a volunteer thing. You get to ride in some sort of vehicle, depending upon which parade you are chosen for. If I remember correctly you lead the parade and then get a good viewing spot for the rest of the parade. We were chosen in 2001 when we had our two oldest DGDs at WDW for the oldest's 9th birthday.
