Disney's Space Mountain reopens after guest fell unconscious Saturday
Walt Disney World's Space Mountain attraction reopened Sunday, after a woman was found unconscious at the end of the ride on Saturday.
Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said the ride had been inspected and was working properly. Disney did not release the results of the inspection. The ride reopened mid-morning on Sunday.
There was no word Sunday on the condition of the 48-year-old woman, who fell unconscious about 9 a.m. while riding the coaster. Disney said it does not release the names of its guests for privacy reasons and could not provide an update on the woman's condition.
Reedy Creek Fire Rescue, which handles medical emergencies for Disney's parks, transported the woman Saturday to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital on Turkey Lake Road.
According to Assistant Chief Bo Jones, the woman was unconscious but had a pulse and was breathing on her own when transported.
