Zip Orlando has opened for business in Kissimmee.

The Zip Orlando course is located adjacent to Green Meadow Farm, but participants must first check in at 4509 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Kissimmee, and then be transported the 2 miles to the eight zips and three suspension bridges. The longest stretch is 950 feet, where zippers are said to reach speed of 30 mph. The highest point of the course is 65 feet, said Laura Ureta, manager of Zip Orlando.

The new course is owned by Experience Based Learning Inc., an Illinois company that designed and constructed the Zipline Safari at FloridaEcoSafaris at Forever Florida near St. Cloud two years ago.

The Zip Orlando experience takes 2.5-3 hours and runs through forest land, where zippers may spot deer, turkey, alligators, cattle and other animals.

The tour costs $95, but a Florida-resident discount brings that down to $75.

Zippers must weigh between 70 pounds and 270 pounds, but there are no age restrictions.
