Titanic Dinner Event
This is a somewhat new dinner event. I did not know what to expect and WILL give spoilers in case some don't want to be shocked like I was.. So, if you don't want to know what happens, leave now

I tried for a couple of months to book the event but it seems you can only book about a month in advance. So far, they are only doing the show on Saturday nights at 8pm. You must arrive about 30 minutes in advance to preboard lol. We learned this the hard way and were called to inquire as to where we are. International Drive can be quite busy so plan accordingly!
We were the last to arrive (the shame!). There is a cash bar and you can look around at some of the Titanic memorabilia plus meet the hosts.
At 8pm, we are escorted into the dining hall. There are several round tables set up that seat about 10 or 12 people. Our hosts were Mr and Mrs Widener of the Philadelphia Wideners. We are celebrating Captain Smith's retirement. He only delayed his retirement so that he could sail the Titanic. Mr. Bruce Ismay and Thomas Andrews along with Margaret Brown were in attendance. Our wonderful Italian chef is Luigi Gatti and he is quite delightful.
The meal includes salad with a raspberry vinagarette, rolls and butter, beef, chicken, veggies and roasted potatoes (there also seem to be a bland looking pasta for the vegetarians). Drinks included are unsweetened tea, water and coffee. Sheet cake with a raspberry filling was dessert.
The cast of characters mingled throughout and were quite delightful. Bruce Ismay did NOT like Margaret Brown at all. He just thought she was uncouth and told us so in no uncertain terms.
At the end of dinner, Mr. Andrews took us on a tour of his ship. However, our tour was cut short when there was an iceberg spotted. We were escorted to the proper deck to get into lifeboats. There was a bit of talk about how all 4 tanks had been filled and we had maybe an hour tops. Then they sang Nearer My God to Thee. I was NOT expecting all of this at the end and was very emotional. Other drunken idiots thought it was funny and were laughing. I'm sorry, it is not real but it DID happen so people should be respectful.
We were given a ticket with a person's name on it and then we got to see if we lived or died. I lived. I knew that ahead of time as my person got pregnant on the Titanic. I figure they wouldn't know that had she died.
You can see some of the stuff that's on the regular tour. However, if you want a more in depth tour experience, I'd do the tour as well.

There is a $10 off coupon in one of those coupon books. I paid for mine before seeing it. You have to pay in full when you book.
OH! There is also a guy who works there who is a dead ringer for Robert Pattison. Sadly, I did not get a picture of him. I think my friend did. I'll have to see if she has it.I am a travel agent with The Magic For Less Travel. Please private message me if you'd like help booking a trip!

Re: Titanic Dinner Event
It's not like any one person is pointed out to the room. It's more like a real dinner party and they come to the table and chat. Some people didn't talk at all and others monopolozed the whole thing (and it wasn't me!

Re: Titanic Dinner Event

was the end..... awkward? I mean clearly emotional for people who were thinking about it and less so for people who were drunk, but was it "ok" or a bit weird

I don't think it was weird. There is a room at the end where they show a little film clip about that night. Then they show you the wall of the names of those on the ship. When you exit, there is a room with memorabilia about the various Titanic movies and the cast is there to answer any questions and take pictures.
