do you think they'll extend the monorail?

Do you think they'll ever extend the monorail at disneyworld and if so, where would you like them to extend it to?

Surely the wilderness lodge deserves it? and the studios?!

Just based on costs alone I don't think this will be done anytime in the near future. Last I read the costs would be close to the billions of dollars.

With that being said I think expanding a line that goes from Epcot to DHS and it's resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach). Another line going from TTC to DTD would also be pretty cool.

While this would be nice I don't see it happening because of the availability of the boats serving these places. Personally I would like to see a line run out from TTC to AK and AKL.

Walt Disney World is only 28% developed as we speak. Disney had so much more planned such as additional monorail resort, theme parks and a concert venue. With the economy the way it is who know if any of those will become true.

Just an example: When they first planned the Wilderness Lodge they were going to have a train which would connect to Ft Wilderness. They were going to expand the entire area of Ft Wilderness and build a frontier town with stunt shows, restaurants and shops. The old Exposition hall on Main Street had a mini museum that had some expansion plans and ideas.

Time will tell but the monorail is extremely expensive to build.

Another thing to consider is the Mark VI monorail models are now over 20 years old (in service starting in 1989). Disney upgraded from all the previous Mark IV trains by the end of 1991. This could be part of some of the recent issues Disney has been having with the monorails. The cost of each of these trains was over $3.5 million.

Disneyland is currently running the Mark VII monorails since late 2007.
