like or loathe the Contemporary?

To anyone who's seen the contemporary and the new bay lake towers, what do you think? like or loathe and why?

Personally I feel that the Contemp has a more "corporate" feel to it than the other Disney resorts, and for this reason I would not consider it as my vacation destination despite its proximity to MK.

BLT looked amazing though when we went on a DVC tour there shortly after it was built.

I agree with Slowhand, it just leaves me a bit cold tbh. We always visit for Chef Mickeys etc and the location is fantastic but I can't see it ever figuring in our holiday plans in the future even Bay Lake Towers.

I love it

I always did like nice businessy hotels around the world so perhaps that's it. I love the hustle bustle feel of it, the restaurants right there.

Then of course, I love being able to walk to the magic kingdom and back after a late night at the castle.

I have had the odd icky experience though. Some of the staff have been snotty and very off and the corridors in the wing can be low ceilinged rat runs which go on for miles.

What knocks it out of the park and makes it by far my fave is being able to get a room looking over at the Castle and sitting there on the balcony watching the fireworks, watching all the buses collect the people as the Magic Kingdom slows down and empties out. Then watching the castle change colours at the end of the day from the room.

In the morning, wake up, look out the window from the bed and the first thing I see is the Castle.

Both most recently we've stayed at BLT but we've also stayed in the Contemporary theme park views and had the same wonderful view of the castle.

Actually the contemporary has very large rooms and the last few rooms we've stayed in have had flat screen computers in there as well

We have never stayed in the main building but did stay in the wing that was where BLT is now located and we were NOT impressed. We were going to stay there during the wedding that we are attending in November but decided not to.
