Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
I meant to ask about those two
the yachtsmen and le cellier. Both are quite close I think, is one very much better than the other?

Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
My only MUST do each time I go is JIKO at AKL. We also love the Yachtsman, Artist Point, Citrico's and California Grill. IMHO Yachtsman is head and shoulders above Le Cellier, or at least the Le Cellier that I know. They have recently upgraded it to Signature Dining and we haven't been there yet.

Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
Hhhm, Disney restaurants........well, Yachtsman Steak House is one of our must do every trip, the food is good and also a friend works there, so it's a fun night

Bistro de Paris is another that we like and Kona Cafe at the Polynesian.
We stay offsite so we tend to eat either at the house or in restaurants outside Disney

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together.......
there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...... I'll always be with you.

A friend is a hand that is always holding yours,
no matter how close or far apart you may be.
A friend is someone who is always there and will always, always care.
A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.

Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
Absolute favorites?
Bistro de Paris (the degustation menu is wonderful!!!)
Cape May New England Clambake (buffet at Beach Club)
Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Jiko (but can be spotty with food quality)
Artist Point.
Now, for less elaborate:
Beaches and Cream
Tangierine Cafe
Patisserie in France
Hot pretzel cart in Germany
Off site has much better choices any more though.
(I'm so not a fan of DDP and the havoc it has wreaked on Disney Dining).

Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
I seem to be the odd one out
Ive had so so experiences at lots of them.
Bistro de paris was passable but far from amazing in May this year. Expensive for what was on offer although still one of the few decent places at EPCOT.
We've had some good meals at yachtsmans, although I WISH they hadnt stopped doing the bourbon steak
but we've had some variable service and sometimes it can feel a bit souless to me ;/ lacking in atmosphere (we've been when it's been very quiet and we've been plonked in a window table overlooking the pool which would normally be great but with no one else around :/ )
Jiko last two times managed to spill a meal bringing it to our table and last time managed to then drop the bottle of wine whilst trying to recover the meal. Meals have ranged from "I have to come back!" to "hmmm :/ cardboard steak"
I'm tough on restaurants, I know I am. It better be AMAZING for me to say they've done well.
California grill - well some of the staff there need retraining
but on a good night, with a good table and a good view. Wow. Other than one time, we've always had great food and some of my favourite memories are of watching the fireworks from our table there with a glass of champagne in hand. sigh.

Re: MUST DO Disney restaurants?
Jiko! We do it every trip! Never had anything less than a WOW meal there.
I also enjoy Artist Point and Citrico. Yachtsman - more for having a friend who works there than for the food.
For faster service places - Tangierine Cafe - love getting lots of nibbles there!
