No HP7 pt 2 reviews yet?!?
So have any of you on the other side of the pond seen Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 2 yet? I am going to see it right from work on Friday. Didn't it open in England last week?

Re: No HP7 pt 2 reviews yet?!?
Well just back from the midnight showing.
I'll be very interested to see what everyone else thinks!
More so than just about any other movies of books that I've ever seen, the Harry Potter films have shown me how difficult it is to transfer great books to the screen. I LOVE the books and think the films are "just ok".
So, my review of the final instalment would be that, "just ok". I can't even begin to find the words to say how much better the book was. In fairness, they could never get all of the book in the movie but it felt like it skipped from major plot point to major plot point and so much of the subtle detail was missed.
Anyway, if you loved the other movies you'll love this one and it's action from the first minute unlike part 1
End of an era really! feels like we've lived with the Harry Potter stories for so many years now

Thanks for the review. I have rarely seen a movie that can compare equally to it's book.
Nonetheless, I have enjoyed the Harry movies, some more than others.
Keeping my fingers crossed to see it tomorrow.

Thanks for the review Keith. It is very difficult to be successful in making a book into a movie but I think they have done a great job with HP. I would put it just a notch below Lord of the Rings.
Here is how I would rate the HP movies to date (without having seen HP7pt2)
1. Order of the Phoenix
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Deathly Hallows pt 1
4. Prisoner of Azakban
5. Half Blood Prince
6. Chamber of Secrets
7. Sorcerer's Stone

Re: No HP7 pt 2 reviews yet?!?
see I think they did brilliantly with lord of the rings. The feel of the whole thing was right. The Harry potter movies in general have been a let down for me and some of the main actors really can't act to save their lives :P Fair play to Daniel Radcliffe who has come into his own but the others, shudder.
I do think they did a great job with the castle, the lake, the great hall etc.
