Family will invade Walt Disney World Feb 2012

Hi:

Searching to find out how to do WDW right! This seems to be the place. Have traveled the world and have been lucky enough to have been to three of the Disney properties (California the first, Paris the coldest (Christmas Day with snow) and WDW my favorite).

My daughter Mandy has planned a family trip (Our five grand children, two daughters and spouse) for this February. Mandy's husband will be deployed this September and I think this trip will help the time go faster.

Because of transportation costs (West Coast, Seattle) we are looking to be frugal in terms of lodging and food. We have booked into AFRC (Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort) but I would like to try and find something on the WDW property. I have some time so I will continue to use the internet and this site.

I've been to all 3 parks as well and I was amazed how different they all are

It sounds like you are going to have a lovely family time at WDW.

How old are your grand children?

How big of an accommodation did you want? If you would consider being offsite, you could rent a beautiful villa.

If you want to be on site for certain, you have a range of options from the Vacation Villas (studios through Grand Villas) and regular hotel resorts from the Grand Floridian to the All Stars and Pop Century.

Hi Tom,

Currently Disney offers discounts of up to 40% off for members of the military for travel dates through Sep 30. 2011 at all WDW resorts. Disney also has other discounts for the same time frame.

They also are providing discounted park tickets that need to be activated by 10/1/2011 and must be purchased at participating U.S. military sales outlets .

Disney runs these promotions thoughout the year and I'm sure something will be going on Feb 2012. If you stay away from President's week you should be OK.

If there is anything I can do for you please let me know. I appreciate what he does protecting our families and our country.

Thank you for your replies. We are currently looking into Shades of Green, but are just really excited about the trip in General. We will not tell the Grand Children, Katlin 13, Preston 10, Parker 8, Hunter 2 and Stella 1 until we land at Orlando!

Will need to set-up countdown until Feb 5 2012!
