Re: What to avoid and what to see at all costs

Hello and welcome to Disney Secrets.

The answers are driven by personal choice and preferences, eh?

Some children will be frightened of one ride and others by another. Most of the attractions are in the dark, and that can be frightening in itself.

Same thing for restaurants. Disney has a huge selection of restaurants, so most people will find something they like. The choices range from elegant American at Artist Point to selections influenced by the African continent at Jiko...

It's completely up to what a person likes or dislikes.

I agree, its all down to personal taste! Last year when we went my dd who is 4 would go on stuff that my 20yr old nephew wouldnt (he has ride-naphobia though!) so its hard to say what a 7yr old would go on

you can find out a bit about the rides before you go to help you choose. my ds was 8 last year and he was too small for the big rolercosters at disney and universal. he found expedition everest a bit scary at AK and he didnt enjoy splash mountain at MK my 11 year old didnt like space mountain!! i am a scaredy cat when it comes to anything that means my feet are not on the ground lol but i enjoyed it all but not space mountain. it is cos it is in the dark, i like to know what lies ahead. every one is different.

Re: What to avoid and what to see at all costs

Tabby, you should have gone on it when it was Alien Encounter! I'm serious! It's the only time at Disney I had to keep saying to myself, "This is Disney, nothing bad is going to happen."

Scared the wits out of me the first time. Can't imagine how little kids responded (well, I can. There was any number of little kids shrieking their heads off).

So, we consider the Stitch one a miss. It's no where near as freaky as the old version, but we'll still pass.

Actually a lot depends on you. If you seem scared or guarded your child will be the same. On any attraction your not sure about going on watch the people when they come out of the exit. Anyone crying or seem upset? You can also ask a child coming off the ride close to your child's age if they liked the ride. Your child hearing a positve response will go a long way.

I so miss Alien Encounter! I do wish they hadn't replaced this.

Re: What to avoid and what to see at all costs

My friend took her kids for the first time last year. The kids loved everything except Stitch. They were absolutely terrified. I don't think Stitch is scary at all but then I'm not a little kid. I can see why some thought Alien Encounter was frightening.
