New Member taking first trip to WDW for twin sons' birthday in Jan/Feb

Any great suggestions for me about how to make this birthday trip amazing for my boys? They will be turning 7 during our trip. Only DH has been to WDW before so it will be a first for me and the boys.

Oh my gosh!!! You and the boys are in for a real treat.
What about a pirate make over for the twins. Maybe a character lunch for their birthday.

I am very excited. We are planning on surprising the boys when we arrive in Orlando (or at the airport in NY if we are pestered with questions about where we are going). We are planning on doing a lot of character breakfasts (one very picky son mostly eats pancakes and waffles and will have a hard time at other meals). Thinking of either doing Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace on their actual birthday. They love Mickey!!! Will also be looking into the pirate makeover. I'm hoping we can keep this secret from them!!!

Make sure to let any CM you meet about the birthday. They will invariably give you a birthday pin, and who knows, they may even do something extra special for you.

make sure you get your character meals booked as soon as you can. i followed the link from disney secrets, disney dining, i did it all on line and printed my confirmation at home and took it all with me.

Make sure Disney knows about the birthdays. They will put it in the remarks on your reservation. We were down a few times for birthdays and there was a Mickey balloon and a birthday card from Mickey and Minnie in our room.

And get the Birthday button from guest services. We were standing on a long line for Test Track in Epcot and a CM noticed the birthday button. He took us and escorted us in the singles line and took us right to the entrance.

When you make dining reservation tell the CM that it is a birthday. You can order a birthday cake for the kids. I know Chef Mickeys offers the option but I'm not sure about the Crystal Palace.

The time of year you are going is slow for Disney and they may run a promotion. When discounts are released I post them on the boards after I get done converting my clients reservations to the discounted rate with Disney.
